Equipment Inspector (Oil & Gas)

Job Overview

We are hiring Equipment Inspectors to support inspection and certification activities for Oil & Gas projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of equipment inspection procedures, safety compliance, and documentation standards related to lifting equipment, tools, and mechanical assets used on Oil & Gas sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection, testing, and certification of lifting equipment, tools, and accessories (slings, shackles, wire ropes, hooks, lifting gears, etc.).
• Assess equipment condition and verify compliance with relevant standards (ASME, API, LEEA, LOLER, ISO).
• Prepare accurate inspection reports, non‑conformance notes, and certification records.
• Perform visual inspection, dimensional checks, and functional testing as required.
• Identify defects, wear, or damage and report findings to supervisors and project teams.
• Ensure all inspected equipment meets safety and operational requirements before use.
• Maintain proper documentation, logs, and traceability of equipment inspected.
• Liaise with rigging and lifting teams to support safe lifting operations.
• Follow all HSE rules, permit‑to‑work systems, and site safety regulations.
• Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certified Equipment Inspector / Lifting Equipment Inspector (TUV, LEEA, OSHA, or recognized training institute).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience inspecting equipment in Oil & Gas, construction, or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of lifting tools, inspection techniques, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with ASME/BS/API/ISO standards for lifting equipment and mechanical tools.
• Ability to generate clear and accurate inspection reports and certificates.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and follow structured inspection procedures.
