Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring proper documentation, authorization, and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process in coordination with department heads.
- Analyse project costs, profitability, and expenditure, particularly for real estate developments, leasing operations, and maintenance projects.
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective measures to improve cost efficiency.
- Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly and year-end accounts.
- Supervise and review journal entries, payment vouchers, and reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure sufficient funds for operations and investments.
Major Goals:
- Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.
- Percentage of reconciled accounts and variance reduction.
- Budget vs. actual variance levels.
- Compliance with internal audit and external audit findings.
- Timeliness of month-end and year-end closing.
- Effectiveness of cost monitoring and cash flow management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Essential Qualification (Must Have)
- Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce from a recognized university.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or chief accountant role.
- Prior experience in the real estate, construction, or property management sector is preferred.
