Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
The Design Engineer – Electrical LV Switchgear & Automation is responsible for the design, detailing, and documentation of low voltage electrical panels and automation systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, KAHRAMAA requirements, IEC standards, and customer-approved drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare electrical schematics, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and panel layouts.
- Design and detail LV panels including:
- MCC panels, PCC panels, Distribution Boards , Control Panels, VFD and Soft Starter Panels, PLC-based Automation Panels etc.
- Develop electrical drawings using AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and EPLAN Electric P8.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation for production and procurement.
- Ensure all designs comply with KAHRAMAA, IEC, and applicable international standards.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Coordinate with production, procurement, project, and site teams for technical clarifications.
- Handle drawing revisions, as-built documentation, and maintain proper document control.

- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Electrical LV switchgear and automation industry.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of LV electrical systems and control circuits.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and tender documents.
- High attention to detail and engineering accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple projects.
Optional (Added Advantage):
- Experience in Qatar / GCC projects.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (ERPNext or similar).
- Basic exposure to PLC and automation systems.
